FAQs

Welcome! Hope you find the answer you are looking for here. We have put together some FAQs that we get asked quite a bit.
  1. What exactly does PAL stand for and what is it?  PAL stands for Partners in Academic Learning. This is our school's parent-teacher organization at East Wake Academy.  We are here to provide support to our students and teachers.  Our membership drive, student annual dress down passes, and fundraisers have provided security features, technology upgrades, classroom supplies, teacher appreciation treats (such as massages!) and much more for East Wake Academy!
  2. Why should I join PAL? Simple! For the teachers and your kids. All money that is raised goes right back into the classroom and the school. As mentioned above your money helps us fund family events, teacher grants, classroom supplies, security and technology upgrades to our school.
  3. That sounds great! How do I join PAL? Easy as 1, 2,3!! Click on the Parent or Teacher tab. Then click on the Join PAL tab and fill out the form.
  4. How long do I have to join PAL? All school year.
  5. What exactly is an annual dress down pass and why does my child(ren) need one?  Glad you asked. The annual dress down pass is by far the most popular fundraiser amongst the students! When you buy the pass your child will get to wear whatever they want to school on a specific day each month that is set by PAL. Clothing on dress down days must follow the non uniform dress code.
  6. How do I get an annual dress down pass for my child(ren)? Simply click on the PAL Membership and Dress Down tab there you can purchase your annual pass and PAL membership all in one place!
  7. Do I need an annual pass for each child or does one cover the whole family?  You must purchase a pass for each child.
  8. How much does it cost to join PAL and get an annual dress down pass?  It only cost $50 for a family with one child. Each additional child is $20. So a family with three(3) children will only pay $90. In years past this would cost $140.
  9. If I cannot buy the annual pass is there another option? YES! We offer a bi-monthly pass as well. The first pass will cover Sept/Oct and will be available until September 9th. The second pass will cover Nov/Jan and can be purchased October 14-November 4th. The third pass will cover Feb/Mar and can be purchased January 13th-February 3rd. The fourth pass will cover Apr/May and can be purchased March 17th-April 7th.
  10. When will my child(ren) get their pass?  They will not receive an actual pass. We will keep a list of all those who have purchased the annual pass and the bi-monthly pass. Teachers will give armbands to students who have paid for the annual pass on dress down days.
  11. Can I join PAL and not pay for the dress down pass? Sure! Click on the PAL Membership tab.
  12. How long do I have to get an annual dress down pass?  Labor Day.
  13. If I miss the deadline of Labor Day will there be any other time to join PAL and get a dress down pass? Yes and No. We will not be collecting money for Dress Down at any other time during the year. This is why we are starting so early with sign ups and running until Labor Day. You may join PAL at any time during the school year through our website, simply click on the PAL Membership tab
  14. I am a teacher, do I still get the same discount as previous years? ABSOLUTELY YOU DO!!!
  15. I placed a Spirit Store order and forgot to put my child's information for delivery, what do I do now? Do not panic! Simply send an email to info@ewapal.com and let us know your child's name, grade and homeroom teacher.
